At the same time, firefighters in Grady County are battling a wildfire north of Alex, Oklahoma. Authorities say two structures have been destroyed in that fire. The second deputy then drove to the other side of the alley to intercept Reed. The OSBI reports that Reed began driving at the deputy, who then opened fire. Reed was struck by gunfire at least once. He was flown from the scene by a medical helicopter to an Oklahoma City hospital. Reed remains in the hospital Thursday.
