On Wednesday, the Oklahoma legislature passed their first tax hike in almost 30 years to fund a pay increase for teachers who hadn't seen a raise in a decade. The bill includes an average $6,000 pay raise for educators and $50 million dollars in education funding, as well as to avert a teacher walkout.
