FORT SMITH, Ark. (AP) — Fort Smith will appeal a ruling that three city directors violated the Arkansas Freedom of Information Act by discussing city business through email. The city's Board of Directors voted Tuesday to confirm the Jan. 30 filing of a notice of appeal to the Arkansas Supreme Court.

FORT SMITH, Ark. (AP) — Police in Fort Smith are investigating what is being called the unexplained death of an 18-month-old girl. Cpl. Anthony Rice says police were called to a hospital Tuesday where the girl had been taken with unexplained bruises and died. The girl's name hasn't been released.
